I pick D too. All my girls like to share clothes.
I have only Addy, and she only wears historical accurate outfits. Anything else just doesn't look right to me, then she's not Addy. When I get a Today doll, she'll go back and forth, but never Addy.
DD only has Kit & she only has historical clothes. DD just doesn't seem interested in getting AGOT clothes. She really enjoys the period outfits. She is looking forward to getting Felicity & her style clothes. We'll see if she switches clothes around then. Kit does have a prairie dress, but it doesn't see much wear. It not a modern outfit, but it certainly isn't the 30's. I tried telling Hannah that Kit could be time traveling or playing dress up, but she just rolls her eye's. P.S. I prefer the styling of the historical clothing, but do not mind mixing clothes & dolls. I agree w/ putting on them what best suits them.
Nope, my historicals stay historical. However, they do share clothes between the time periods. I love Molly in Kirsten clothes, and Addy looks great in Samantha clothes.

My today girls wear the historical clothes, but my historicals have only been in their clothing.
I don't do it purposely(or maybe subconsciously I do), but I seem to be a historical purist. Although, my DD does have Addy who has been a today girl since she opened her box. My rewigged Addy and Felicity are today girls.
D. My dolls wear anything. They're not real, so they have no say. And I like them in pretty much anything, so they were a lot of *everything*.
I've got about an even number of AGT clothes and (all) historical clothes, so it's easier to go with the AGT. It's also fun to be a bit more interesting, and mix and match outfits, which is near impossible with historical items.
I normally have them either all in historical or all in modern clothes.
B. I have mostly historical dolls, or dolls that have become historical dolls . . .Jess is modern, and AG21 (Erilyn) is from all times. They are my only modern-clothes-wearers!!

B with C. I doubt the historical girls would be comfortable in clothes of today.
I never, ever put PM Felicity in Today clothes. She just wouldn't look right.
We do put the other historicals in modern clothes occasionally.
My daughter won a Mattel Felicity at Barnes and Noble this fall. Since we already had a Felicity this one has become a modern girl, Sarah Felicity. She looks adorable with her hair in braids and is very cute in modern clothes (especially the current basketball outfit.)
